Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of the use of Botulinum toxin type A. BotoxR in Frey’s Syndrome Patients and method: This is an experimental, study on two female patients with Frey’s syndrome by sialodenitis chronic, and acinar cell carcinoma, with superficial parotidectomy, for evaluate syndrome was used the Minor test and use botulinum toxin type A BotoxR , applying subcutaneously, using a dose of 3.0 MU / 0.1 ml/cm2. Results: The Minor test was conducted in two patients. The time of onset of symptoms was 6 months from the left side and 12 months on the right side for presenting bilateral syndrome and 12 months for the second patient. Minor test was positive in
100%. It was applied Botulinum toxin and three-month followup without evidenced of recurrence; evaluated by Test Minor. There were no adverse effects after administration of Botulinum Toxin Type A BotoxR. Conclusions: Botulinum toxin is an effective treatment, safe
and easy to reproduce in the treatment of Frey’s syndrome, without evidence of adverse effects and improved quality of life of patients
