Abstract

Objective: Determine the surgical experience in the manage- ment of iatrogenic injury of bile (LIVBP) in the Hospital "Dr. Domingo Luciani"- IVSS from April 1987 to December 2010.

Method: Descriptive, retrospective study. Sample of 130 patients with LIVBP.

Results: The overall incidence was 0.70%; conventional via videoassisted 0.74% and 0.67%. 72.3% Female, a male 27.7%, with mean age of 43 years. 96,1% Of LIVBP were made during cho- lecystectomy, conventional 68.5% and by via laparoscopic 27.7%. 69% risk factors they did not specify, 20% corresponded to acute cholecystitis. 48.5% Type II and 31% type III according to Bismuth. The partial section and the ligature with 22% each one, total section 18.5%. 37% located in the choledochal, 27% non-location, 25% in the common bile duct. The Hepp Couinaud procedure predominated, 26%, followed by the Hepaticoyeyunoanastomosis with 21.5% with 26%. 31% Were reoperated, surgical 85%; and endoscopic 15%. The main cause of reoperation was the stricture of the ABD (30%). The global mortality rate was 6.9%.

Conclusion: The operation of Hepp-Couinaud has better prognosis.
