Abstract
Objectives: To analyze the concepts of minimally invasive surgery, the use of the robotics in surgery, a brief history about it, and the applications of new surgery technology with the robotic DaVinci (Intuitive Surgery System), and also their advantages and limitations. Patients and methods: Descriptions of the experience of 57 cases in the Hospital de Clínicas Caracas”, in Caracas
Venezuela, form June 2.006 until March 2.007. Results: Excellent results, without complications, using the DaVinci System, these results are comparable with the international experience. Conclusions: Laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery made or complemented by robotic system Da Vinci is precise and safe, with an excellent outcome in those patients to whom it was used. His learning is rapid and it greatly facilitates the surgical procedure to surgeons with training in conventional laparoscopic surgery.
